Happy Birthday Buck!

Buck Rogers in the 25th Century premiered on NBC 40 years ago on September 20, 1979. 

the iconic Rutger Hauher has passed away at 75.

The 80s Resistance was extremely saddened to hear that iconic Dutch 80s actor Rutger Hauer has passed at the age of 75. He appeared in many hit films in the 1980s: Ladyhawke, The Hitcher, Blind Fury as well as his European collaborations with director Paul Verhoeven. However, it was his tremendous performance as rogue replicant android Roy Batty in Ridley Scott's 1982 adaption of Blade Runner that will be talked about for decades to come. A performance that was equal parts violent, philosophical, desperate and humane. He was a great actor and will be missed.

in honor of Lance Guest's birthday and news of a sequel.

In honor of Alex Rogan himself's birthday earlier this week, Mr.Lance Guest and new of a sequel finally moving forward after all these years.  My buddy had a nice long conversation with director Nick Castle this summer who seemed very confident that an announcement of some kind was imminent. Happy to hear about and I hope the film materializes. The original is a true 80s classic.
